Meet The Team
President
Teresa Doley
I am the President of the CAN Club and student chair of the MC Sustainability Committee. I launched the annual CAN Club Denim Drive in collaboration with BlueJeansGoGreen in Fall 2020 to reduce waste produced by the textile industry. As well, I created a spring green community service project in the form of a book drive in collaboration with Turning The Page in D.C to reduce deforestation and increase access to educational resources. Furthermore, I organize the spring lecture series where we host environmental professionals monthly to answer student questions. Outside of MC, I am a Department of Energy intern and contribute to environmental policy endeavors at the county and state levels. I hope to transfer to a 4-year university to continue leading green community service projects and gain the skills necessary to create data-driven solutions to environmental issues.
Vice President
Farin Alimo
I am the Vice President of the CAN Club and I am a part of the MC Sustainability Committee and the Renaissance Scholars. Last semester, I worked on weekly presentations and helped spread awareness about our club to find more active members in our college community. I also helped work on the GivePulse service hour tracking program. This semester, I will be working with Movement for a People’s Party to create a local hub in Maryland and spread awareness about the organization. I have a passion for helping others and learning about history, different cultures, and languages. I am also passionate about veganism and finding simple ways to be more sustainable in our daily lives. I currently have an associate degree in Communications and I am pursuing a career in International Relations.

Secretary
Paulina Martinez
My role as a secretary entails sending weekly emails, and creating presentations. I helped with sifting through denim donations and picking up denim donations from thrift stores for the denim drive. In the spring semester, I will be bringing in a speaker for the lecture series about the 5 cent policy regarding purchasing plastic bags. I also am in charge of reaching out to schools about presenting environmental issue presentations. My major is Elementary Education/Special Education. Being an officer allows me to teach club members about ways to improve the environment in ways that are accessible to them. I am extremely passionate about sharing methods to implement sustainability and eco-friendliness!

Treasurer
Bailey Lehfeldt
My name is Bailey Lehfeldt. I am the treasurer and social media coordinator of the Climate Action Now club and I am so happy to be a part of this awesome community. Outside of the CAN club, I am a volunteer with the National Park Service, The Maryland Medical Reserve Corps, and a student in the Renaissance Scholar Honors Program. I would love to go to law school one day and devote my life to helping others, as that is one of my greatest passions. Aside from that, I am also a musician, and play gigs on the side around Montgomery county.
